Change

Things need to change in my life, I know that. I just keep wishing it wasn't true, but I really can't go on with the way things are. Trouble is I'm not sure what to change.

Change is never easy and that's the problem. If I'm going to change something, then I may as well do it on a grand scale. That is scary. But I need to break the circle I'm in. I'm unhappy with one small part of my life and this is affecting all aspects.

Of course all this is going to take time, which is a scarce commodity. I have to make the time, which sounds so easy. Still I'm determined to do one thing this week, which will help me change things. I'm torn between two different ideas.

I'll report later on in the week, which I chose and why or I'll let you know of my complete failure in this area.

Spring Fair

I thought I would have a nice quiet weekend at home and I would be able to catch up on all the outstanding items. I forgot all about the Spring Fair. So Saturday was a day filled going round stalls, buying stuff and generally not getting anything useful done at all.

I did manage a few things, but mostly it was another wasted weekend. We had fun though and enjoyed ourselves, though it wasn't quite as good as last year so we are considering not going next year. What we will do is take a closer look at the theme and stall-holders before going, then we'll decide. We also spent money, which we really shouldn't be doing at the moment.

There's a bill for 18 thousand, which is due any day. The bill is foreseen and we can afford to pay, but still we should be a little careful in case we sail a bit too close to the wind. Still there's extra money coming in this month and the tax return should be credit either this month or next. All in all we'll be back to zero after all the in and out goings. Or close to it.

Busy

I've been away on a business trip. A totally unnecessary one, but still I was away. Unfortunately my new laptop does not have wireless, which meant I couldn't access the Internet. I only found out about this 1 hour before I was due to leave and hence did not have enough time to get one.

I will be buying one soon. It was annoying to say the least. I hadn't been prepared for no email or anything, so no posts appeared anywhere. I also had nothing to do on this trip. For real. There was no reason to go, but my boss insisted so I went. Boredom almost killed me.

So now I'm back and more determined than ever to start doing things, which will start tonight. Though that will be nothing to do with here, as it's all the home stuff that I didn't do whilst I was away. Hopefully this weekend should be more productive. I don't think there is anything planned, so I might actually get the time...

The past week

Well I didn't write anything at all on the blog, but I had a good time. I was busy every day except for the last, when I just sat around playing a computer game all day. I haven't done that in a long time and it felt good.

I actually didn't get as much done as I hoped, but I still did quite a bit. Did some gardening, went out for the day twice, did some housework, spent time with the family. It doesn't seem like much summarized, but I was exhausted and happy because of it.

Almost caught up with work at work. I usually have far too much work, but I have been taking steps to reduce my workload and try to catch up with most of the projects. I took the deliberate decision to ignore one of the projects, which hasn't gone down really well with the head of that project, but something had to give.

I have a busy weekend coming up due to family commitments. Hopefully I'll try to do some writing, but it won't happen tomorrow as I will be out until late. I will try on Sunday to log on and write.

Next week will also be a challenge as I have to go on a business trip. One I'm not looking forward to, but I have no choice in the matter. Still I will see how it goes and I might get a chance to do something.

All in all I actually live quite a boring life. OK so I didn't include the details that would've spiced the whole thing up, but to be honest it wouldn't have been that much more interesting. LOL

Today

I am very tired. I had an exam this morning and I'm not sure that I passed. I should get the preliminary result either today or tomorrow. The official result will take a couple of weeks to come through. I'm pretty sure I failed. I know 2 others did fail. Everyone else already have their results, I'm the only one who doesn't know yet.

Still it's done and there's nothing else I can do about it. Other than that nothing at all interesting happened. I spent yesterday, including the evening, revising so I didn't do anything else.

I live a dull life - at least the day to day version. However I promised at least one post a day, so here it is. I really should have trolled the Internet trying to find something to comment on, but I probably would've been very mean and for no real reason.

Let's hope the weekend gets more exciting or I think of things to write about.

New blog

I'm trying to find a blog that matches me. I've a writing blog that I add to about once a month and I'm trying to start a house blog. I'm not sure how long that one will last. I tried to write a money blog, but that didn't get too far - I'm far too sensible with money for it to work. I've never spent too much ever and have never been in financial trouble.

This is going to be a general blog. I can moan about discuss any subject I like. I probably should have started this first so that I could see if there was any particular area I want to concentrate more on. Still I've gained experience from the other blogs, so no loss.

I live in Europe, am married with 2 kids. I have a full time job and a very large, old house. We have a cat, that technically belongs to my husband, but as I'm the only one in the house that the cat actually likes, he tends to be thought of as my cat.

I'm sensible almost to a fault, but occasionally I do more outrageous things. Just don't hold your breath waiting for it to happen. We live well below our means, but most of the excess goes on renovating our house. This will continue for the foreseeable future, probably until we sell the house, unless my husband actually gets round to finishing...

I'm going to attempt to write here every day including weekends except when I'm away on holiday. When we go on holiday we leave everything behind. It's almost a rule. Troubles, problems, everyday life get left behind and we relax, or at least worry about other things, for a couple of weeks.
